Joe is a life-long learner and product of a bus ministry where he was led to Christ at age 6 while attending Sunday School at Fourth Street Baptist Church in Hartsville, S.C. He is a former U.S. Army Paratrooper and has served in many austere environments around the world.
Professionally, he has served as Country Manager (Afghanistan) for an International Risk Management Company, as well as Business Services Manager for an International Oil and Gas Company operating in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He has over 20 years of pastoral experience (to include 2 church plants – Ramble On Biker Church in Anderson, SC, and Rally Point Biker Church in Pauline, SC).
Educationally, he has attended several Bible Colleges and Seminaries, culminating in the completion of the Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership. In addition, he is a proud alumni member of Liberty University (GO FLAMES!) and supports making “Champions for Christ.” With his knowledge and experience in both the special operations community, high-risk security industry and the ministry, Joe has developed a Safety/Security Program for churches entitled Safe Church 247.
Personally, Joe’s greatest accomplishment is being the husband of his wife Kim, father of three great kids, Jennifer, Rachael and Joshua, and grandfather of 10 incredibly independent grandchildren. Occasionally, Joe has the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time!
The driving force of his life is knowing that people are broken and desperately in need of an authentic relationship with a God who loves them deeply. Our prayer is that in some small way, this little “pea patch” blog will help you find your place at the table and encourages you to take the next step in your faith walk.
